It is the aim of the La Sierra University Athletic Department to develop the student-athlete within the context of the university's Seventh-day Adventist religious philosophy.

The ultimate goal of our athletic participation is to develop individuals
willing to work for the wellness and wholeness of mankind, even as we seek to achieve optimal results in the athletic arena.

We believe involvement in organized athletics is designed to help students mature in their physical, mental, moral, ethical, and spiritual value spheres. At the same time student-athletes develop the attributes of self-control, self-assurance, camaraderie, hard work, and leadership skills.
